While Texas will forever hold a special place in my heart, there are few feelings that surpass the exhilaration of finally hitting that stateline! There was an overwhelming wave of relief yesterday when I (at last!) returned to my primary element of exploration.  And, although the route through west Texas & northeastern New Mexico holds little variety, there were still a few notable landscapes along the way (especially at sunset!)

The last 48 hours were a wonderful teaser for the next 5 months of freedom and discovery.
