The second night’s prep seemed to go about 3x faster than the first night’s, and sleeping required much less effort for both Mike and myself. It may have been the peacefulness of being in the Los Padres National Forest and the lack of pedestrians walking by all night, or just the fact that this wasn’t the first time, but everyone woke up quite a bit more refreshed than the previous morning. A repack of some items and we headed just a few miles south to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park.

Semi-Spontaneous SF: Day 3
Monday, July 19th, 2010Semi-Spontaneous SF: Day 2
Monday, July 19th, 2010Waking up in the morning as I said, was surprisingly nice. Even though me and Mike would have preferred a bit more snooze time, everyone was eager to get going and see what else we could get out of SF! After a quick dash around the corner to the only trees within sight so that Mike and Hazen could get their morning rituals taken care of, Gena and I reconfigured the car and found a nearby Jack-In-The-Box for breakfast other necessities. Fed and ready to go, we made our way to Golden Gate park.
Semi-Spontaneous SF : Day 1
Thursday, July 15th, 2010Day 1 of our trip consisted of leaving Altadena about 8 am. We got on the road a little later than we’d hoped to but, coming off of a late work night the evening before, sleep was more preferable than lack-of. Luckily though we didn’t hit any Saturday morning traffic on the way up I-5 through Burbank and beyond. Once we hit the mountain pass and then dropped down into the central valley, the road was nice and free flowing for the rest of the trip.
Semi-Spontaneous SF
Thursday, July 15th, 2010With a long weekend available after a rather stressful month or more, we decided it was time to get out of town and go on an adventure. Seeing as we have kicked around the idea of traveling north in California for quite a while but never found the time, this turned out to be the weekend with no more excuses.
